jams...

kirk's post made me think about how whenever jamie and i talk we always ask what the other has been listening to, but can never seem remember anything when we're put on the spot. so right now, for the first time in awhile, i'm actually sitting back and listening to music, so i thought i'd post the things that are making me happy at this moment (and actually making me feel relaxed for the first time in a few weeks), in case you guys need any new jams to listen to. (i put the links to itunes for previewing, but if you guys want me to upload anything just let me know.)

New Pinhead Gunpowder 7" -- new tunes to make you think of old times.

Poison Idea "Pick Your King" -- their first 7" and the only thing i really like by them (doesn't sound like what you think of when you think Poison Idea). just fucking great old hardcore, which i've been on a big kick of lately.

anything and everything Chuck Ragan -- there are a couple singles he's put on itunes lately i've been listening to a lot, plus the collaboration LP w/ austin lucas, a couple splits, a handful of comp songs, the revival tour song.... dude is goddamn prolific and that makes me stoked.

The Clash "Live at Shea Stadium" -- not a mind-blowing show, but it sounds great and there are some really cool moments.

Die Kreuzen "s/t" LP -- this album was crazy ahead of its time. fucking insane hardcore from '84. after this they turned into a pretty terrible band, but holy shit this record rules. the link sends you to the album on itunes this record is tacked onto the end of, so if you check it out, start at track 16.

Dillinger Four "CIVILWAR" -- even when they're just okay its still pretty rad. more new tunes to make you think of old times.

The Fest 7 Comp -- a surprisingly cool 34 song comp No Idea put together for this year's Fest. like any no idea comp there are some misses, but there's actually a lot of songs i'm enjoying by bands i never really dug that much before. and it's free!

And lastly the damn record that i've been listening to more than anything the past 8 months. but as of last night its finally, officially done! the culmination of almost 2 years represented in 44 min and 55 sec. life's an amazing thing... let the touring begin so i can actually get to see all you guys again!!

Would you guys want to start a private blog to share music? Each person uploading an album a week, I could get it started if people want in. Let me know.

I think that is stealing. Corey is a thief. Congrats on the record Mike; I didn't expect you to follow Chuck Ragan all the way to Austin Lucas' bluegrass arena.

I'll set it up. Let's make the albums at least 160 kbs and Zip or RAR files files. Host through sharebee.com
